Malak is CIMA's Associate Editor. In this role, she supports the work of the editorial team and assists with CIMA’s research, blog and publications. Prior to joining CIMA, she was a research assistant at Georgetown University’s Center for Democracy and Civil Society. She has a background in local and national news reporting owing to her experiences as a freelance journalist based in Doha, Qatar, as well as her time as an intern at USA TODAY.

Malak holds a B.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University in Qatar and an M.A. in Government from Georgetown University, with a concentration in Democracy and Governance.
