Sasha Schroeder

Sasha Schroeder is CIMA’s Program and Communications Assistant. In this role, she is responsible for supporting CIMA’s communications activities and assisting in the organization of public events and roundtables. Prior to joining CIMA, she worked for the International Press Institute, where she tracked and reported on threats to global press freedom and helped produce IPI’s annual report on reviving local news media around the world. She also worked for the Middle East Institute, where she edited a podcast featuring analysis on foreign policy in the Middle East and North Africa. Additionally, she has written for many local news organizations in North Carolina. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Journalism and Global Studies and a minor in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies.
